Drive 90 min. through beautiful countryside where you relax at a beachfront café while Aquamarine loads the boat for diving at Padangbai. There is time for breakfast.

Based on sea & weather conditions the dive sites may vary. Your first dive may be Gili Biaha, 35 min. by boat. Aquamarine is one of only 3 Bali dive shops to offer trips to Biaha. A dive briefing is given after arrival at the site and your guide has checked the conditions. Entry is by a backroll off the boat, the boat will follow the divers. Upon surfacing, remove your equipment in the water, the crew will lift it aboard and you exit the water via a ladder.

5 min. ride to the white sand beach for the Beach Barbeque, an absolutely delicious feast of grilled fish, satays, salads, Balinese vegetables and sauces. Surface interval, then 15 min. ride to Tepekong or Mimpang for the second dive.

Following the dive, 20 min. ride back to Padangbai where you have a post-dive coffee (about 2pm) while the staff unloads the boat. Arrival in Candidasa about 3pm at the Watergarden Hotel (listed among Bali's Top Ten Most Romantic Hotels). Check in, rest or stroll among the lotus ponds. Dinner at TJ's restaurant at the Watergarden Hotel or take an evening stroll in Candidasa for shopping and try one of many other restaurants and cafés.

Day Four - Diving Tulamben:

Pick up at 8:30am for diving at Tulamben, one hour north of Candidasa. Relax at a beachfront restaurant while your guide organizes the equipment and porters. A Tulamben village co-op supplies a porter service to carry your dive-ready equipment along the stony beach to the dive site. The money is pooled and put to use for the village as a whole. All you carry is yoru mask, snorkel, fins & weightbelt. Aquamarine staff will carry camera equipment if you need help.

Order lunch before heading out to dive. Put on your wetsuit and booties (sturdy thick-soled booties are recommended for walking on the stones) at walk 5-10 min. up the beach to the USAT Liberty shipwreck, a beach entry. Don your equipment and mask around your neck, fins in your hand, walk into the water. Once floating, put on your mask and fins, then decend and follow your divemaster to the wreck.

Back to the hotel for a quick rinse and piping hot lunch! Meanwhile, the Aquamarine dive staff will change over your equipment to new tanks. For your second dive you can do the same dive or try another, the Drop-off Wall, Batu Kelebit or Coral Gardens.

If you booked a 3rd day dive or a night dive (must be booked in advance), You might try the Drop-Off Wall for a late afternoon dive, there are a lot of lionfish in the late afternoon. For night dives, choose any of the shore dives. Many people highly recommend a night dive on the wreck. Annabel, Aquamarine's owner night dives here for the flashlight fish. The Coral Garden is Wayan's favorite for the "little things". Romon prefers the Drop-Off/Wall.

Whether experienced in Tulamben or on the journey back to Candidasa and the Watergarden Hotel, the light fading over Mount Agung (Bali's highest and most revered mountain) can be quite remarkable.

Day Five - Diving Nusa Penida:

Dive Boat loading from the beach
Bali Dive Boat
Pick up you and all your luggage for tranport to Pandangbai where you'll take a boat for diving at Nusa Penida. During the 75 min. boat ride, you see a wide stretch of Bali's coastline and there's always the chance of seeing dolphins.

Once at Nusa Penida, your guide will choose sites where the conditions are good, based on your experience and interests. All the sites are drift dives and are mainly steep slopes and walls, offering great diversity in both topography and in the marine life you are likely to encounter. Backroll entry. We advise that you carry an inflatable signalling sausage. If you do not have one, AquaMarine will provide one.

Lunch is usually taken on board, but you have the option to wait until the return to Padangbai and have it while waiting for the equipment to be unloaded.

Tranport back to your hotel in the south of Bali. If you haven't seen the sunset at Tanah Lot Temple, you could go this evening. It is a breath-taking experience!

Day Six - Land-Tours:

You last full day in Bali!

Choosing from the amazing array of options is difficult. Now would be the time to go for final fitting of any clothing you are having made. Later, you could go whitewater rafting; lie on the beach or by the pool; have a surfing lesson; or go shopping (for paintings, jewelry, woodcarvings, silver, musical instruments, batik, clothing).

Alternatively, you could do another half-day or full-day land tour or treat yourself to a spa. Spas are found all over Bali including Ubud, a hill resort about 90 min. from Kuta/Sanur, something of an artistic centre for the island, cooler and greener than in the very south of the island.

Or you may find that today is an important day for ceremonies - there are good and bad days for the different ceremonies in Bali - a unique end to your holiday in Bali.

Day Seven - Departure:

Take your time over your tropical breakfast, have a stroll along the beach, buy the things you've been tempted by, pick up any clothing you've had made. Check out of your hotel and check in at the airport.

AquaMarine hopes you'll come back soon, and for longer next time.

You can, of course, extend the diving Safari above both in terms of number of days and the different dive sites visited. Just let us know what you would like to do and we will arrange it for you.

Day Four - Diving Tulamben:

Pale Surgeonfish, Tulamben Diving Coleman Shrimp, Tulamben diving, macro photography Cuttlefish, underwater photography, Tulamben Indonesia

7am pick up for diving at Tulamben. Pack your dive gear separate from your luggage. You will stay in Tulamben tonight. Drive 2.5-3 hrs. through pretty countryside, seeing rice terraces, coatline, rural villages and Bali's most revered volcano, Mount Agung.

A Tulamben village co-op supplies a porter service to carry your dive-ready equipment along the stony beach to the dive site. The money is pooled and put to use for the village as a whole. All you carry is your mask, snorkel, fins & weightbelt. Aquamarine staff will carry camera equipment if you need help.

Order lunch before heading out to dive. Put on your wetsuit and booties (sturdy thick-soled booties are recommended for walking on the stones) and walk 5-10 min. up the beach to the USAT Liberty shipwreck, a beach entry.

Relax and rest for a few hours until your Night Dive.

For night diving you can choose any of the shore-dives (the Wreck, Drop-off / Wall or Coral Garden). Many people highly recommend a full moon night dive on the wreck. Annabel, Aquamarine's owner night dives here for the flashlight fish. The Coral Garden is Wayan's favorite for the "little things". Romon prefers the Drop-Off/Wall.

Once back at your hotel, leave your equipment for AquaMarine's staff to rinse and go have a shower. It's now time for a cold beer, or perhaps a bowl of soup if you got chilly night diving.

Day Five - Diving Amed:

If you are an early morning riser, go for an early morning dive, perhaps on the Wreck, while the lighting is osfter than later in the day, the marine life is undisturbed and the Day Trips have not yet arrived.

After breakfast, go to Amed, 30 min. south of Tulamben. Amed (more accurately known as Jemeluk) is a quiet fishing village that is popular with people looking for peace and tranquillity. Dive Sites Amed Wall and Amed Reef can be done either from the sandy beach or from small outrigger fishing boats, called jukung, which are large enough for 2-3 divers.

Take a seat in the beachfront café while the staff prepare your equipment. Decide and order lunch for later.

At each of the sites, Amed Wall, Amed Reef and Lipah Bay (aboud 30 min. south, home to the wreck of a 20M stell freigher) your guide will judge the conditons and decide where it's best to enter. Due to the size of the boats, you will don your equipment in the water. Once you are ready, your guide will signal and you follow your guide and the natural contours of teh sites to your maximum depth. The boat will follow your bubbles so they will be there to pick you up at the end of your dive. Upon surfacing hand up your weigh belt and then BCD and tank to the boatman who will lift them aboard. Then, using your fins for propulsion, get back onto the boat yourself.

Return to the beach for lunch and to change tanks.

Choose a second dive from one the the three sites above before returning to Tulamben for overnight.

In the evening have a choice of relaxing or doing another Night Dive.

Day Six - Diving Menjangan:

Depart Tulamben at 7am (with all your luggage) for diving at Menjangan. We arrive at 10am in Labuan Lalang (northwest Bali) where we take a boat to Menjangan Island. While the AquaMarine staff load the diving gear, choose what you'd like in your lunchbox and it will be prepared for you.

It is a 30-60 min. boat ride to the sites at Menjangan. All dives are wall dives and are usually drift dives. Entry is a backroll from the boat. The boatman will follow your bubbles so you move with the current and do not have to return to your entry point.

The most popular dive sites are Pos II, Garden Eel Point and for the experienced, the Anker Wreck, a 150 yr. old wooden boat.

Lunch on board or on the white sand beach at Pos I from which it is also possible to dive. After lunch and perhaps a snorkel, it's back on the boat for the second dive.

Back at Labuan Lalang, rinse off and perhaps buy a souvenir T-shirt. Prepare for the 3 hr. drive to Ubud.

Day Seven - Ubud, Relaxation:

Rice Paddy Terrace View
Rice Terraces
Spend the day being pampered in your hotel's spa or sampling the delights of the cafés and restaurants in and around the resort town of Ubud. Elephant trekking, one of the more recent activities introduced in Bali, is based in a village just outside Ubud. On elephant back, you get a different perspective of the countryside that inside a vehicle!

There are classes in Balinese dance or batik or you can stroll through the rice terraces and watch the duck herders. Wherever you are in Bali, there are traditional dances with musical accompaniment that you can watch, often while having dinner.

Day Eight - Exploration or Shopping:

Heading south from Ubud you will find that each of the villages specialises in one handicraft or kind of artistry: silver jewelry, wooden pictures, flowers or fruit, stone sculpures, musical instruments, paintings, baskets and so on. You can spend many days exploring Ubud's surroundings - and end up with a great deal of excess baggage if you aren't careful!

Choose lunch and dinner from one of Bali's chic restaurants, a café perched on a clifftop or a jazz bar.

Day Nine - Land Tour or Shopping:

Your last full day in Bali. You may choose to move south to the coast again, or to a luxury boutique hotel for your last night here.

For daytime activities, this would be the time to go for a final fitting of any clothing you are having made. Or, you could do a half-day or full-day tour of any places you missed earlier on the trip... organize a 4-wheel drive exploration of Bali's interior, or just lie by the pool or beach.

If you moved south, you could go on the Tanah Lot Sunset Tour (approx. 3 hrs). Tanah Lot is one of Bali's most important sea temples and the location, atop a rocky outcrop, with the sun setting behind, incredible!

In Bali the shops close late, so you can do some last minute shopping if your flight is early the next day.

Day Ten - Departure:

Take your time over your tropical breakfast, have a stroll along the beach, buy the things you've been tempted by, pick up any clothing you've had made. Check out of your hotel and check in at the airport.

AquaMarine hopes you'll come back soon, and for longer next time.

You can, of course, extend the diving Safari above both in terms of number of days and the different dive sites visited. Just let us know what you would like to do and we will arrange it for you.
